Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
According to the scripture Hebrew 12:1, it is my privilege to share the vision that was set before me and the race that I have to RUN. I would like to share with you how I received the call of God, my history, my vision, and how far I have gone with the vision.
To the glory of God, the author was called into ministry on August 12, 1988, at the age of 21 through a powerful revelation. In the dream, Jesus Christ appeared in a village searching for him, and when they met, Jesus gave him a Bible labeled “GOLDEN BIBLE” and commanded him to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). Jesus also revealed that in 20 years’ time he would be in America. When he woke up confused about the dream, he shared it with the Scripture Union coordinator, Brother Tayo (later Bishop Tayo Odunuga), who explained that it was God’s calling upon his life.
After understanding this divine call, he developed a deep passion to reach the unreached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially in neglected villages across Ijebu Land in Ogun State, Nigeria. Even before this encounter, people in his secondary school often called him “Pastor” because he frequently preached to fellow students. With a renewed spiritual fire, he committed himself fully to evangelism, believing that many souls in rural villages were perishing because most preachers preferred cities and towns.
In 1988, he began preaching from street to street in Ijebu-Ode and later expanded his ministry to nearby villages. Through a connection with Gbenga Odusanya, he was invited to preach at a village youth fellowship, where God began to perform miracles among the youths and community members. His first village crusade in Odesenbora Ilugun, Ijebu-Ode, sparked a powerful revival that spread to neighboring villages, touching both young people and adults.
Despite severe challenges—including lack of electricity, poor roads, financial hardship, and persecution—he and other young believers continued their mission, often walking several miles between villages to preach. Many early evangelists had been driven away by hostile forces, but through prayer and perseverance, revival spread across the region. Within a few years, many people turned to Christ, and the spiritual atmosphere of the villages began to change as light and development gradually followed.
At the age of 21, while traveling to preach in rural villages, the author’s family believed he was entering dangerous areas where even well-known pastors refused to go. Concerned for his safety, they called a family meeting in Epe, Lagos State, and urged him to stop preaching in those villages because they feared he might be killed by the demonic forces believed to control the areas. However, he refused to abandon his calling, declaring that he was ready to die for the sake of the Gospel, standing on the words of Matthew 10:39. Because of this decision, his family rejected him, but he remained firm in his faith, trusting in God’s promise in Psalm 27:10 that even if his father and mother forsook him, the Lord would take him up.
Despite severe persecution, suffering, and attacks, he continued preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On one occasion, after a serious spiritual attack, he fell into a deep sleep for three days, and many believed he had died. To their shock, he woke up and returned to the same village where the attack had occurred to continue preaching. People fled in fear, thinking they had seen his ghost. Nevertheless, he remained undeterred and continued spreading the Gospel across villages, towns, and cities, working with ministries in Nigeria until God directed him to move to South Africa in 2004 to continue his mission.😀😄😍💗
The author gives thanks to God for the many youths he preached to in the villages who have now grown into mature men and women faithfully serving in the Kingdom of God. Many of them are actively involved in ministry and society today as pastors, ministry leaders, lawyers, and business professionals, continuing to impact lives for Christ. He also remembers with gratitude those converts who have passed on to glory, praying that their souls rest in peace.
This passion to reach the unreached led to the establishment of the River and Tree of Life Foundation (RTLF). The foundation was created with the mission to Train, Mentor, and Equip (TME) small churches in villages, towns, and cities across Nigeria, Africa, and the world so they can fulfill their God-given purpose. The vision of RTLF is not for personal gain but to support small churches, ministries, communities, and the less privileged, encouraging believers to focus on God’s work and strengthen the growth of the Kingdom as we prepare for the return of the Lord.

Akinboye Omolola Opeyemi is a passionate educator who has taken teaching as a lifelong career. She is quite committed to helping teachers in Nigeria and Africa to thrive in their teaching practice to help every child they come across become a better version of themselves. She is as well an education Revolutionist who seeks to making sure that the 21st century teaching and learning methodologies are practically indicated in every school in Nigeria.
However, her trainings in Montessori and the IB (International Baccalaureate) PYP, to include her teaching experience at an international school in Ibadan accorded her the appropriate understanding as to how the education system in her country can get better.
Akinboye Omolola could not have come up with L'orlà Pedagogical Foundation without her person educational experience in her home country, where her learning needs were not met, consequently making her a backwards learner. She grew up being a dullard in her class. The stigma infact made her a loner and introvert until she had encounter with a teacher that was able to meet her learning needs in her middle school (year 10). Conclusively, her personal and professional experiences in connection with the commonest order of the day in schools around her triggered the movement which is ongoing and of course persistent.
At L'orlà Pedagogical Foundation, we are committed to bridging the gap between the future and now right in the classroom. Our primary goal is to help every child become a critical thinker who can come up with solutions to local and global issues in the future. This can only be achieved if the teachers in the classroom are well braised up to bringing out the lifelong learning qualities (communication, critical thinking, risk takers, balanced, open-mindedness, inquiry, amongst others) in their learners.
